A song that curses – In Punk, Metal & rap there are tons of songs that have curses, it’s not even that uncommon or shocking anymore… But way back in 1972 it definitely raised an eyebrow (and possibly got you in trouble with your parents)… From the ’72 lp Nilsson Schmilsson- You’re Breakin’ My Heart by Harry Nilsson

A song not sung in English- Viva L’Amore Con Te by Sandie Shaw (Long Live Love in Italian)… Sandie Shaw was England’s number one female pop singer in the sixties, she had a number of hit records in the US too, but not as many as in England… she was multi lingual and also recorded records in French, German, Italian and Spanish… Making her extremely popular throughout Europe. This is one of her singles in Italian…

Song with rock or rocker in the title – Rock Around the Clock by the Sex Pistols from the film soundtrack LP The Great Rock and Roll Swindle, Eddie Tenpole Tudor on vocals… Sure the Sex Pistols were technically broken up, or at least in total shambles, by the time The Great rock and roll Swindle was being put together… Johnny had left & there was a brief thought of replacing him and going on, but it was a bit like flogging a dead horse by then… Eddie was considered as a possible replacement and did three songs on the soundtrack. But ultimately the band continue to crumble, Sid died. Eddie went on to create the band Tenpole Tudor and recorded great music on his own… This is a great track nonetheless, and Eddie certainly injected some energy and fun into a dying band (and an old song)… Enjoy!

Song with the same name as the band – Public Image by Public Image ltd. Johnny Rotten becomes John Lydon and creates an incredible song & album that confounds expectations, and continues to do so for years to come, a true original, brilliant!
