It’s Bandcamp Friday

by , November 6, 2020

Today is the day! Since the pandemic affected us, the folks at Bandcamp have started something called Bandcamp Friday – I’m not sure it’s an official name, but the first Friday of every month, Bandcamp waives the fees it charges bands. So it’s a perfect time to make that purchase you’ve been contemplating to help a fellow musical sister or brother out!

Bands on Bandcamp I’ll currently recommend are: Pulchra Morte, Sanhedrin, the WeEmptyRooms label, who hosts Dead, Creston Spiers and Vaz among others, and my Jersey brethren Night Birds, too!

I also always check out what SmallStoneRecordings is putting out, it’s a tried and true stoner label, and Death Meditation by NY’s Funeral Leech is a recent favorite.

It’s not necessary to extol the virtues of Bandcamp as a whole, but it IS necessary to support musicians; most which haven’t been able to do what it is that you know them for in quite some time, and a lot are in terrible circumstances because of it. Don’t let the music world die, look up some bands (they do have searching tools I’ve found to be very good), and support, now! Bandcamp Friday has a midnight deadline – I’m not sure which timezone applies, but get shopping!
