Garden State Noise

Hello Rockers! Today I give you summary / review of releases by artists either from New Jersey or have a strong connection to the Garden State. Since I picked these to review for the reason that I think they are great, and I know I am supposed to give them a numeric rating … so for now I’m just giving the Sblendorio nod of approval, devil horns, right on right on and an alright, alright. All releases came out in this mess of a year 2020.

Wyldlife “Year Of The Snake”
On their 4th full length Wyldlife offer up 11 songs with passion in the vein of all the great bands that have influenced them. Without naming names or using labels, this record could have been released on Sire or Bomp Records in 1978, but with 2020’s foot kicked up its ass … Loud and Snotty … Catchy Riffs a Plenty… the title track is a great anthem and the closing track “The Falcon” is killer. Shut Up   “Nope”
… NOPE is the title of this 14 song 27 minute ripper. This Power Trio has the feel of a band that would have been released on SST Records when the label was in its heyday. Gruff vocals and driving riffs, tempo changes like a car chase thru side streets … taking all the curves at a high speed…Punk Rock N Roll Supreme. Band link. Label link.

Tight Lipped  “So Tight”
With seven songs in 16 minutes, these ladies lay down fast tight riffs that make me wanna dance , drive fast and do anything except sit still. I’m looking forward to see them perform live as soon as this virus curfew reinstates ROCK back to the stage. In the meantime I will blast this loud the way its meant to be played, So Tight indeed. Band Link.

Danzig   “Danzig Sings Elvis”
Always a fan of Glenn Danzig … I watched him perform in his all his bands the first time around….so I’m biased. I’m also a long time fan of E. What I do like about this is the song choices, which are mostly deep tracks… and the songs are delivered solemnly and heartfelt… a fine tribute … Danzig most definitely did  T C B. Artist Link.
